Abingdon Branch

The Abingdon Branch is a 00 layout of the station complex around 1948. Abingdon was at the end of the branch line from Radley. Regrettably, passenger services ceased in 1963 and the line closed in 1985. The site now is largely occupied by Waitrose with a senior citizens home on the site of the station building. Nothing now remains of the station or the goods yard although part of the track bed is now a cycle path.

The project was initially a joint undertaking by 2 club members, however, since it's errection at the club room it has become a club project. No less than 58 members are, or have been, involved in advancing the project.

It's debut was at The Abingdon Exhibition on 7th March 2009. It has also appeared at Reading in September 2010 and Didcot in October 2010.

The project is well advanced and all members are encouraged to get involved and work on the layout. It does not matter what your ability there is something for everyone to do.
